What is LTL, FTL, LCL and FCL Shipping?
At FlagShip, no shipment is too big or too small. Our Logistics Freight Division offers services to customers who need to move large shipments. We can offer LTL shipping (Less Than Truckload) , FTL (Full Truckload), LCL (Less Than Container Load) and FCL (Full Container Load) within Canada, cross border and overseas.
LTL (Less Than Truckload) – This means a shipment that does not require a full 48’ or 53’ trailer. There are specialized carriers for these types of services. It could be a van or a flatbed or any other specialized truck depending on your needs. Pricing depends on the following and not limited to: weight, dimensions, tailgate, inside delivery, residential delivery, and so on. Along with the distance of the shipment.
FTL (Full Truckload) – This means the shipment will fill an entire 48’ or 53’ trailer. FTL shipments can require straight truck, 48’/53’ van or specialized equipment, which depends on the needs of the goods being shipped.
LCL (Less Than Container Load) – Cargo from various shippers is consolidated into one container. At the port of arrival the containers are stripped in the local container freight station and the goods are shipped to their individual destinations.
FCL (Full Container Load) – is a full 20’ or 40’ container and is used mainly to ship across ocean.
If you feel that your shipments are restrictive in size and weight or that the volume of your shipments is resulting in extra charges, Logistics Freight might be an option for you. FlagShip provides reliable delivery for your palletized shipments intra-city, cross-Canada, and cross-border shipping to and from the USA. While we are affiliated with over 2500 carriers, our team can determine which type of service is best suited for your shipping needs.
